Some days ago I received an email in which was attached an excel sheet, which depicted the Royal Chronology Of India along with the chronology of the religions worldwide. This was an interesting piece of information as this is a very important step towards finding who we are? Who were our ancestors? What is the history of this great country of ours?

This gave rise to a very important question. Who will give us the correct and clear picture of our history? What resources, which are reliable and detailed, are available with us? Well, a tricky question to answer. But if you read our mythological Granthas, you will get all these answers. The excel sheet given above, according me, is a realistic picture of ancient India. Loads of information with all the necessary notes and internet links are given in this excel sheet, for e.g., Is the story of Lord Rama built a bridge between Rameshwara and Sri Lanka, true? What is the evidence of this? The details are given in this excel sheet.

There are so many other evidences scattered throughout our country, but we have to look at them not as some myths but as the historical monuments.
Our ancestors were so great, that even today we worship some of them (Lord Krishna and Lord Rama) and we symbolise some of them (Dhruva - The Immovable and Determined (Atal and Achal) and Hanuman - The Rescuer (SankatMochan))
There are yet other Kings which we respect - Satyawadi Harishchandra (The Truth Speaker), Danweer Karna (The Generous), Balwaan Bhima (The Mighty). We try to imitate their virtues.

The Royal chronology of India is the history of India since 2million B.C.E. It covers all the Kings those ruled Punchnad (Land of Five Rivers), Brahmavarta, Aryavarta, Jambudvipa in very old days. The great Bharat (Son of Dushyanta) was this incredible King who united India as one nation and thence this Vast Region is called 'Bhaarat'.
Many of us think that 'Purana', ' Upanishada' and 'Veda' are the works of fiction. I don't believe this. I agree that it is very difficult to maintain history of such a vast and ancient land, but I also think that the epics Ramayan and Mahabharat are the historical documents, so are the Vedas and Puranas and Upanishadas.
Our ancestors were so great that we look at them as they were from some other world (The Swarga !!) and they were divine.
One more thing that we think is that they were immortals. This is NOT true. They were mortals, but their deeds were NOT mortal. They are still remembered through their deeds, their wars, their quality to rule, and the respect and love they got from the people. Will you say that Lord Rama and Krishna are still alive physically? No... but we still remember them through their greatness.
So.. please have a look at this excel sheet, which is really 'excel'lent and understand the Royal Chronolgy of India.
Hats Off to those who prepared this huge chart..!! They have done a great job and must have worked hard to gather so much of information. I really appreciate them as they fitted this large amount of history in just a single excel sheet. Great work indeed!!
